The guild had a great planning meeting for 2016 on Saturday, January 30. After a quick juggling of the location we met at The Village Troubadour cafe in Greenhills.
Attending members included Terrence Burke, Ryan Moore, Linda Mason, James Howes, Bill Yost, and new member Susan Bean. Welcome to CAPG Susan! After enjoying our meals we discussed plans for guild events that include:
A trip to the Miami University lecture on February 15, 2016. Sesame Street puppeteer Caroll Spinney will be one of the guests. More information
Cincinnati Day of Puppetry will be held at Happen in Northside on Saturday March 19, 2016 from 10 am – 12 noon. Richard Brown and Linda Mason are performing this year! We are asking guild members to share any international puppets for a “International Puppet Showcase”. Volunteers are needed to help run this annual guild event.
We are inviting members to attend the performance of Ventriloquist Lynn Trefzger on April 22, 2016 in Fairfield. Lynn is an Ohio vent who has been performing for 30 years. She has agreed to meet with guild members after the show! Ticket information
Additional items discussed included:
- Moving the annual puppet slam to October. Ryan Moore will contact the Southgate House Revival to set this up. All 2015 performers are welcome back in 2016!
- Setting up a general guild email for contacting the guild, and sharing information.
- Finding a organization (church/community center/etc.) to “adopt” the guild for meeting space. It was mentioned that in return we could offer a performance to that organization.
- Linda Mason provided an up to date list of guild member’s email and telephone numbers.
