Join us for Cincinnati’s Day of Puppetry 2018 on October 20, 2018, from 10 AM until 12 PM at Happen Inc 4201 Hamilton Avenue in Northside.
This annual FREE event is open to everyone, no registration required. There will be Halloween themed puppet performances by guild members, puppet displays, and you can make your own puppet from 12 PM until 5 PM.

An Evening with Wayne Martin on Larry Smith and his Puppets
Join Boston puppeteer Wayne Martin for “An Evening with Wayne Martin on Larry Smith and his Puppets”. Martin will be discussing the long career of legendary Cincinnati puppeteer and TV personality Larry Smith on Saturday March 3, 2018 from 7:30 – 8:30 PM at the National Voice Of America Museum of Broadcasting, at 8070 Tylersville Road West Chester, Ohio.
The event includes a tour of “Larry Smith -The Works” exhibit in the Media Heritage section of the museum.
Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Tickets at the door.

10 – 11AM Puppets & Pancakes – watch puppetry videos while enjoying pancakes.
11AM – 12PM Guild members perform short puppet circus acts and have puppets on display.
12 – 4PM Happen puppet making session. Make a puppet to bring home!
The guild had a great planning meeting for 2016 on Saturday, January 30. After a quick juggling of the location we met at The Village Troubadour cafe in Greenhills.

Cincinnati Day of Puppetry will be held at Happen in Northside on Saturday March 19, 2016 from 10 am – 12 noon. Richard Brown and Linda Mason are performing this year! We are asking guild members to share any international puppets for a “International Puppet Showcase”. Volunteers are needed to help run this annual guild event.
We are inviting members to attend the performance of Ventriloquist Lynn Trefzger on April 22, 2016 in Fairfield. Lynn is an Ohio vent who has been performing for 30 years. She has agreed to meet with guild members after the show! Ticket information

Moving the annual puppet slam to October. Ryan Moore will contact the Southgate House Revival to set this up. All 2015 performers are welcome back in 2016!
Setting up a general guild email for contacting the guild, and sharing information.
Finding a organization (church/community center/etc.) to “adopt” the guild for meeting space. It was mentioned that in return we could offer a performance to that organization.
Linda Mason provided an up to date list of guild member’s email and telephone numbers.

Thank you all for coming out to Happen, inc yesterday for National Day of Puppetry. We had a great turnout! The morning began with pancakes and puppetry videos in the Toy Lab. At noon, Vice President of the Guild, Ryan Moore took the stage with his Elvis Tribute Puppet, Snelvis Pestley. At 1pm, the CAPG President, Terrence Burke performes Wump Mucket Puppets. At 2pm, Richard Brown of Berea, Kentucky performed hilarious skits with his Puppets & Such. Guild member Jesse Mooney-Bullock did a demonstration of our Dragon, Mittens. Such a wonderful day!

Cincinnati Day of Puppetry will be Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 11am-2pm at Happen, Inc. located at 4201 Hamilton Avenue in Northside. We will have a pancake breakfast at 11am, followed by performances by Snelvis Pestley, Wump Mucket Puppets, and Puppets & Such. Come check out our displays, make a puppet with your kids, and enjoy some walk around puppetry as we celebrate one of the world’s oldest art forms.
